Great honours for a Great cheese! - Champfleury

Best fine cheese in Quebec

Three prestigious prizes are awarded to Agropur Fine Cheese division's cheese makers for the latest in their line of Fine cheeses; Champfleury

This prize-winning cheese is a soft ripened cheese with an unctuous and creamy interior. Its copper-orange washed rind gives a delicate aroma and a fruity taste to the cheese.

These three prizes were awarded during the 9th annual Quebec Fine cheese contest that officially launched the 13th Warwick cheese exhibition, an independant non-profit organization. Incorporated in 1995, its board manages the overall activities related to the Festival, Salon des fromages fins and Maison des fromages. The organization acts as promoter of Sélection Caseus, Quebec's Fine cheese contest.

Canadian Reserve - The World's Best Aged Cheddar

Canadian Reserve

For several decades, Agropur's cheddar has enjoyed an enviable reputation among its industrial customers and on international markets. It was originally through private brands, acting as supplier to some large food chains, that the Cooperative made its first inroads in the retail market. In October 2001, it made a further step in this direction by launching a new line of fine cheddars under the Cooperative's own brand name, Canadian Reserve. Soon customers were clamouring for this award-winning cheese. In 2002, an exceptional number of awards, including one for World's Best Aged Cheese and gold at the Sélection Caseus Contest catapulted this cheddar into the spotlight and focused attention on this new name now synonymous with excellence. The World Cheese Contest (United States), Canadian Cheese Grand Prix, Warwick Cheese Festival (Quebec) and Royal Agricultural Winter Fair (Ontario) have all showered Canadian Reserve with praise.

2003

Providence OKA

Providence Oka is a soft, washed-rind, surface-ripened cheese that is enhanced by the fruity flavour of its edible rind. Named for the unshakeable faith of the Trappist Monks who refused to give up even during the darkest hours, Providence Oka was born under a lucky star in May 2002, just like the first Oka cheese which will celebrate its 113th birthday in 2006. This fine cheese received the title of Dairy Product of the Year at the Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards in 2003, beating out 13 finalists.

In 2002, Agropur once again dominated the Dairy Product category at the Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards thanks to Natrel Nutrition 24. In line with modern values and needs, this nutritional supplement, containing 24 minerals and vitamins and made of 90% milk, has paved the way for refrigerated nutritional supplements in food stores. Natrel Nutrition 24 was also among the finalists at the Paris SIAL in 2002 for the title of Dairy Product of the Year.

2001

Olympic Dairy

The expertise of Olympic Dairy, a subsidiary of Ultima Foods since October 2004, has combined with Yoplait's 35 years of know-how.
