Agropur US wins big at Wisconsin State Fair

Agropur’s recent submissions to the Wisconsin State Fair rang in big wins for Feta, Mild Cheddar and Mozzarella.

Wisconsin cheese manufacturers accounted for a large portion of the 28 classes and 403 contest entries at the Cheese & Butter Contest event.

An auction of all the blue ribbon winners was held at the Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis, WI on August 10th. The event was able to raise a record-breaking $56,760. These proceeds go towards student scholarships and dairy promotions at the Wisconsin State Fair.


The Agropur blue ribbon winners and auction results are listed below for 2017:


Blue Ribbon: Mild Cheddar — Dan Stearns, Agropur, Weyauwega

Amount: 42 lbs.

Total sell price: $2,520

Buyer: Masters Gallery Foods, Plymouth

Blue Ribbon: Mozzarella — Roger Krohn, Agropur, Luxemburg

Amount: 13 lbs.

Total sell price: $1,300

Buyer: Ebert Enterprises LLC, Algoma

Blue Ribbon: Feta — Nathan Forseth, Agropur, Weyauwega

Amount: 18 lbs.

Total sell price: $1,890

Buyer: DSM Food Specialties, Waukesha
