Agropur update on milk supply in British Columbia

Saint-Hubert, November 22, 2021 - As British Columbia braces for more heavy rains, Agropur salutes the people affected by the floods for their resilience, organization and readiness to help their fellow citizens. “Our hearts go out to all the people who have been hit by this disaster,” says Agropur CEO Emile Cordeau.

The Cooperative is working all-out to maintain operations at its two B.C. plants, in Burnaby and Victoria, and to meet customer demand for milk and cream, at a time when dairy farmers and milk haulers are facing a difficult, fast-changing situation.

Though we are coping with a combination of problems with raw milk supply, the availability of refrigerated transport equipment, and of course the state of the roads, overall production and delivery levels of high volume products have been maintained, with the support of the production team at our Edmonton plant. We are making every effort to increase the availability of our products on a wider scale.

“Our teams are fully committed to maintaining operations, meeting the demand and finding ongoing solutions to get our products to the shelves at all retailers and institutional customers,” says Mr. Cordeau.
