Recap of the Plant Visits in Bedford and Québec

Bedford plant

A few days ago, 13 delegates, facilitators, and young facilitators from Québec had the opportunity to visit our Québec plant, while two members from the Atlantic provinces were welcomed at our Bedford plant in Nova Scotia.

These visits, part of a new initiative aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of our delegates, were made possible thanks to the collaboration of teams at the participating plants.

Each visit offered our members access to the plant’s operations and the chance to meet the on-site teams. They enjoyed a guided tour through the various stages of processing and discovered the facilities and technologies used. The day concluded with a tasting of products made at the plant and a friendly meal.

Many participants expressed their appreciation for the day. Several commented on the impressive logistics and noticeable improvements in operational efficiency. Others felt privileged to have observed the operations up close.

Building on this success, we hope to make this event an annual tradition, in order to offer other delegates the opportunity to experience this unique immersion.

Here are a few photos capturing the highlights of these visits.

Want to Experience a Unique Behind-The-Scenes Look at our Operations?

This initiative is reserved for delegates and young leaders, with the goal of strengthening their skill development and encouraging their active involvement in associative life.

To be eligible, participants must have actively taken part in the Cooperative’s governance by attending both the 2026 Annual General Meeting and the Delegates’ Summit, either online or in person.

No prior registration is required. Among eligible members, 15 participants will be randomly selected to enjoy this unique experience. To allow more delegates to benefit from this opportunity and broaden their understanding, those who have already participated in a visit will not be eligible for random selection in the following year.

Role of Delegates at Agropur

At Agropur, delegates, who are member dairy producers, play a crucial role in the Cooperative’s democratic governance. Elected by their peers during the regional meetings held in November, the target ratio is one delegate for every seven members.

At the Annual General Meetings, delegates are involved in major strategic decisions, such as voting on special resolutions and electing members of the Board of Directors.

Their mandate includes several key responsibilities, notably active participation in Agropur’s cooperative life events, serving as a communication link between members and the Board, and voicing members’ concerns.

As true ambassadors of the Cooperative, delegates are essential to ensuring transparent and effective governance.
