A focus on our St-Laurent Plant

Several elements distinguish the St-Laurent plant from others in the Cooperative.
With the strong growth in demand for value-added milk, such as lactose-free and protein-enriched milks, the plant recently benefited from a major $15 million investment. This investment aims to increase the production capacity of value-added milk through a new ultra-high temperature pasteurization system, capable of processing milk that provides a longer shelf life, such as Natrel lactose-free and Natrel Plus.
Recent changes that have helped improve the plant's performance include two new 225,000L raw milk silos. The St-Laurent plant also implemented a new IT support tool to optimize yard management, which includes truck movements, and the loading and unloading of products.
When asked what makes him most proud on a daily basis, Ghislain Leclerc, director of the St-Laurent plant, immediately mentioned his employees. "The employees of the St-Laurent plant stand out for their exceptional determination and resilience. Their creativity allows for optimizing daily operations, both in production and distribution. They never hesitate to review paradigms and work methods to continuously improve and optimally meet customer needs.”
