Focus on Agropur's Largest Fluid Milk Plant in Quebec
Several elements distinguish the St-Laurent plant from others in the Cooperative. It is Agropur's largest fluid milk plant in Quebec and the only one to manufacture coffee creamers. Additionally, it is the main plant producing lactose-free milk in 1 L, 2 L, and 4 L formats.
With the strong growth in demand for value-added milk, such as lactose-free and protein-enriched milks, the plant recently benefited from a major $15 million investment. This investment aims to increase the production capacity of value-added milk through a new ultra-high temperature pasteurization system, capable of processing milk that provides a longer shelf life, such as Natrel lactose-free and Natrel Plus.
Recent changes that have helped improve the plant's performance include two new 225,000L raw milk silos. The St-Laurent plant also implemented a new IT support tool to optimize yard management, which includes truck movements, and the loading and unloading of products.
