Forum on solutions to the global plastics crisis

We are proud to have been part of the Éco Entreprises Québec (ÉEQ) delegation at the First International Québec-France Forum on innovation in plastic packaging recycling solutions, held in Paris on February 4 and 5. Agropur wholeheartedly supports the Forum’s goal of creating winning conditions for the deployment of innovative technologies for the recycling of plastic packaging.

 

The Forum was organized jointly by ÉEQ and Citeo around the theme “Plastic Solutions: Innovations in recycling on both sides of the Atlantic.” Over 300 participants from Canada and Europe attended. In keeping with the goals of the Ocean Plastics Charter signed by G7 nations, the Forum took an innovative collaborative approach, bringing together manufacturers, corporations, recyclers and investors in order to find solutions and effect true change.

 

Christiane Forget, Vice-President, Global Strategic Sourcing, and Geneviève Lafleur, Process, Technologies and Training Specialist, were there to represent Agropur. “As a socially responsible corporate citizen, Agropur must be part of the solution,” says Ms. Forget. “Every day, we make concrete efforts to translate our ‘Better Dairy. Better World’ vision into reality.

 

Accelerating innovation in plastics recycling

G7 countries have signed on to the ambitious goal of recycling 100% of all plastics by 2040. There are over 150 million tonnes of plastic wastes in the planet’s oceans, making plastics recycling a truly urgent global concern, but innovative recycling technologies, in conjunction with existing methods, can make it possible to achieve that target.
