Agropur commits to reducing GHG emissions 30% by 2031

As the largest dairy cooperative in Canada, Agropur wants to play active role in the fight climate change. It is why we are proud to share today our greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets. These targets demonstrate our determination to move towards more sustainable dairy processing.

We are committed to a 30% reduction in GHG generated by our North American plants by 2031. We are also committed to reducing GHG emissions across our value chain by 24% per kg of milk processed within the same timeframe. We are proud that our targets have been approved by the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi), a credible and internationally recognized organization whose methodology is used by many organizations in the global agri-food industry.

We need to continue our efforts to increase energy efficiency and increase percentage of renewable energy sourced while continuing to support our members, dairy farmers, and customers' initiatives to reduce the carbon footprint of our value chain. In addition, we are working actively with dairy industry leaders across Canada and the United States to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
